    Phocas and Epicor partnership on display at Insights 2019


    The theme of this year's 2019 Epicor Insights event was Elevate and to highlight the partnership between the global ERP provider and Phocas, we had a strong presence at their five-day annual conference in Las Vegas.

    More than 3500 Epicor customers were present and the Phocas team connected with many businesses who already use Epicor Data Analytics (EDA) powered by Phocas, as well as met with others who are interested in integrating their version of Epicor Prophet 21, Epicr Eclipse and Epicor Enterprise Resource Planning software (ERP) to data analytics.

    It was an exciting and busy week; here are some highlights.

    Product feature session

    During Phocas’ standalone product session, Rick Toepfer, the General Manager of America and Jason Birch, Vice President Global Solutions took the opportunity to highlight our industry specific data analytics solution for Epicor ERPs and its many benefits. 

    Rick and Jason spoke specifically about what features customers can’t live without; including visualisations through the dashboards and embedding data from EDA into third party business applications. They also referred to the software’s ability to push insights to users. For example, a business determines key areas of interest such as when customers' sales decline to a certain percentage and then EDA sends an email alert, that outlines which customers have fallen below the accepted threshold.  This allows people in the business to act on insights immediately.

    A topic of much interest during the presentation was the soon-to-be-launched, market basket analysis. This new feature will take a lot of the manual effort from determining what products customers buy together and also throw up some new combinations, which even the most experienced sales reps have not considered.

    Greg Heeley, the Chief Technology Officer of Sistema Plastics, joined other customers on the stage and explained how they’re leveraging their Epicor data to make better decisions in their businesses.

    Sistema Plastics won the 2018 Epicor Technology Innovator award and was a finalist again this year.

    Two new case studies launched

    Case studies and other customer experiences are always helpful when deciding on a new product or to deepen knowledge of a solution. We are very grateful to two of our customers for sharing their Epicor Data Analytics stories.

    WD-40 is a household name and is sold in 173 countries around the world to lubricate and clean. The IT manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa shared how they are using EDA to create a pan-European view of their business, to track product innovations and to effectively manage complex rebate programs.

    Loeb Electric is a 100-year-old third-generation, family-owned business with 250 employees spread across four satellite locations and a distribution center in Columbus, Ohio. The pricing manager explained they use the Epicor Eclipse ERP and their 70 strong sales team use EDA for forecasting and to compare performance across stores.

    Outside of the Phocas booth, we demonstrated the product live in several places, including sessions on Sunday and Morning mornings before the conference called “Extended Education,” plus we featured in an additional 18 breakout sessions throughout the conference.
